Proceedings of the International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression

This paper positively addresses the problem that most NIME devices are ephemeralasting long enough to signal academic and technical prowess but rarely longerthan a few musical performances. We offer a case study that shows thatlongevity of use depends on stabilizing the interface and innovating theimplementation to maintain the required performance of the controller for theplayer.
