We report on a performance study of a French-Canadian fiddler. The fiddling tradition forms an interesting contrast toclassical violin performance in several ways. Distinguishingfeatures include special elements in the bowing techniqueand the presence of an accompanying foot clogging pattern. These two characteristics are described, visualized and analyzed using video and motion capture recordings as sourcematerial.
