Abstract:
Resonate was a musical installation created with focus on interactivity and collaboration. In this paper we will focus on the design-process and the different steps involved. We describe and discuss the methods to create, synchronize and combine the aspects of space, object, music and interaction for the development of resonate. The realized space-filling tangible installation allowed visitors to interact with different interaction objects and change therefore the musical expression as well as the visual response and aesthetic. After a non-formal quality evaluation of this installation we changed some aspects which resulted in a more refined version which we will also discuss here.
